Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in their subject area, with the ability to educate and inspire students. This role requires effective communication skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment. The Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting students in their academic journey.
Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in accordance with the curriculum.
- Create and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess student performance through assignments, examinations, and feedback.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering their personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational offerings of the department.
- Stay current with developments in the field of study and integrate relevant advancements into teaching materials.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and professional development activities.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in the subject area.
- Proven experience in teaching or lecturing at a further education level is desirable.
- Strong IT skills for utilising various educational technologies and platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage course materials and student assessments effectively.
- Exceptional communication abilities to convey complex concepts clearly and engage students.
- Leadership qualities that inspire students and colleagues alike.
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective instruction and interaction with students.
- A*-C in Maths and English.
Contract Types:
This is a term time only position, payment is based on the hours worked. In this arrangement, the pay is directly linked to the amount of time invested in work responsibilities. Holiday and time spent off from work is NOT paid.
Payment is on a monthly basis and is one month in arrears. It is paid via PAYE therefore tax and NI is deducted where applicable. Statutory holiday is accrued for every hour worked. All holiday pay is paid at the same time as your normal monthly pay for hours worked.
